My Year to Shine Again

The daily word prompt “shine” got me thinking!

Last year wasn’t the best for me. I was feeling really low about just about everything. That’s unusual for me since I generally have a ridiculously optimistic attitude. But it wasn’t the circumstances as much as my attitude that made the year so rough. So this year I’ve decided is my year to shine again!

Even when life is tough you can shine!

Even in the most difficult days of my life I could find things that made me deeply happy. It could be as simple as sitting in my garden feeling the sun on my face. I could actually feel myself begin to shine as I enjoyed the sun, the scents, and the sounds. It might be the feel of cool sheets after a long day that made me shine. They were little things but they were important.

You see, when you shine on the inside it’s reflected on the outside. Happy people seem to have a glow about them. That glow not only warms their hearts but the hearts of those they encounter. Joy is contagious.

So find something that makes you shine and then go spread the glow!

  1. That’s a beautiful post – found you via Flying Through Water 🙂
My spiritual mentor J-R has done a nice Moment of Peace video where he says to let your light shine. Really touched my heart, just like your post.
