Blogs You Should Check Out

Naturally I love the blogs I follow. If I didn’t I wouldn’t follow them. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with them all but I make it a point to check in as often as possible. I hate missing posts because these are all wonderful blogs. I thought I would share my (starting) list of blogs you should check out.

These are in no particular order and there will be more to come!

A Hundred Years Ago is a really fascinating blog about, what else? Things from 100 years ago. There are recipes, newspaper articles about making ends meet, and much more!

Dreaming of Guatemala is written by a very bright, very engaging young woman. She inspires me because her relationship with God is so much a part of her!

Purple Slob in Recovery is, simply put, a hoot! This is a woman after my own heart! And if you have an affection for alliteration you need to bop on by her blog!

What’s for Dinner, Moms has incredible recipes, descriptions of Disney vacations, posts about Moms’ wonderful family, and did I mention incredible recipes? If you cook…heck, if you eat, you need to check out this blog!

Jolie’s Attic is so eclectic! I love stopping by to see what has piqued Jolie’s interest.

The Gay Stepdad. Oh. My. Gawd! This guy makes me laugh every single time I go to his blog! And he’s got some darned good recipes, too! I’m also learning about the British through him. I actually started tagging some things both “humor” and “humour” just because of a recent post of his. I love, love, love this blog!

Mack Marie is the utterly lovely blog of a truly sweet young woman. Make a cup of coffee, or pour a glass of wine and go visit Mack!

Yada Darcy Yada slays me. Donna is a truly unique (in the best possible way) person and I adore her blog!

Camie’s Cozy Corner (ahh, more alliteration!) has movie reviews (if you want to know if your kids can watch something, check with Camie), lovely photography, and tales about her homeschooling adventures.

Living Lighter in Atlanta is written by someone who has become one of my favorite people in the world. Homeschooling, frugal living, recipes, and everything else about being a mom and homemaker is on her…wait a minute! I think I may not be needed in the blogosphere!

Author: Elizabeth

I'm a wife, mom, and grandma (known as Bam) who loves cooking, baking, gardening, and all things that go into making a cozy coop for my brood. I have a disability so you may pick up tips on how to do things when some things just don't work right!

  1. Thank you for mentioning me, Elizabeth! ❤ That’s so nice of you 😊 I’ll have to go check out the other blogs! (Aside from my mom’s, which I’m already following lol)

      1. HAHA! Oh my goodness- I always feel like my pictures are a mess, so you are SO sweet to say that! Made my day! I did get a “big girl” camera I would like to learn how to use at some point, but man oh man, time these days just goes by too quick with too much to do!

      2. I tried learning my camera but I now suffer from the attention span of a drunk French Bulldog. I’m hoping to win the lottery so I can hire a photographer to take pictures of my cookies. Okay. That just sounded SO wrong.

      3. Hahahah that’s the way it tends to work, huh?! They’ll pull up our old blog conversations as part of the “prehistoric communications” portion of a college class hahahah.

      4. Back in the primitive days, before people communicated by telepathy and still had bodies (now, now…stop making those faces!) people used things called computers to talk. Of course we’ve moved beyond those savage days.

    1. Well, you certainly have the right philosophy! It’s always intimidating when you start out and some blogs (mine for example) grow very slowly. But if you enjoy it that’s more than half the battle! Good luck! And if there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know!
