I’ll Be Seeing You

You may have noticed I didn’t post anything yesterday. And I probably won’t be posting for a little while. I’ll be seeing you but it may be a week or more. At least I have a good excuse!

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been experiencing worsening pain in my upper abdomen. I went to the doctor on Monday and he ordered stat blood tests and an ultrasound.

Unfortunately, I’d eaten breakfast so they couldn’t do the ultrasound. But today (Tuesday) they did and it looks like I’m going to have to have my gallbladder removed. Good. I don’t like it any more.

Sure, it’s cute and tries to help but the pain it’s causing is ridiculous!

I’ll try to keep you updated. I even thought of asking if they could film the surgery so I could put it on You tube! My innards could be an Internet sensation! I’ll miss you all.

      1. This thing is turning into a real pain! They decided it’s not my stupid gallbladder and so I had to rush all the way to Ann Arbor so they could do another test. I couldn’t even wait until tomorrow! I was hoping to get that ring!

      2. It still hurts like h*ll but that will resolve itself. Of course I just couldn’t keep myself from sharing the initial story so now I’m stuck telling everyone what’s wrong. I think I’ll leave the Internet forever. LOL

      3. I know I won’t leave the Internet. Heck. I couldn’t even stay away when I should have stayed quiet! lol I just can’t wait until I feel up to actually cooking again.

      4. I have to be on medicine for about 4 days and he thinks that will fix it. It’s all because of the spinal cord injury and the medications I’ve been on for 17 years. They caused a nerve (or nerves) to get really slow and stop telling things what to do. I wish I had known. I’m GREAT at telling things what to do. Ask my husband and kids!

      5. I am sure! I, on the contrary, grew up mainly with the grandmother who ruled the roost by speaking only in whispers and forbid adults to say “no” to children. This doesn’t mean she was indulging us; she simply offered a choice of more attractive alternatives. As a result, when I went away to college at the age of 15, I was already in a habit of looking for fun in the right, rather than the wrong, places. When I came home in the morning, it was because I was working (honestly!), and a bottle of wine (or two) did not count.

      1. I don’t blame you, it’s painful. Hubby never complains and it knocked him down. They did emergency surgery that day. Scared me to death. He said he has never hurt that bad ever in his life. I am with you, there’s no need for you to suffer, when they can just remove it.

  1. Oh dear, well ((hugs)) to you and I hope it helps you feel better! I once had an endoscopy done because of pain I was having and they said I could have my gall bladder removed but it might or might not help with the pain I was having – they weren’t sure…i was like, um well I don’t really want to have surgery for nothing! 😛 Turns out, it was actually stress. I literally hurt when stressed. 😦
