My Easter To-Do List

This morning as soon as my eyes opened I began thinking of my Easter to-do list. Instead of having Easter dinner we’re doing a late lunch. This means I have to do some of my Easter cooking/baking today and tomorrow.

My Easter To-Do List

My Easter To-Do List

I'm a wife, mom, and grandma (known as Bam) who loves cooking, baking, gardening, and all things that go into making a cozy coop for my brood. I have a disability so you may pick up tips on how to do things when some things just don't work right!

  1. Exactly its about our salvation. But the world wants to drown that out with all the other activities. Well done Elizabeth. Happy Salvation day, Washing away of or Sins day, Our Saviours Resurrection day 🙂

  2. Lovely post! 😍 Yes, Jesus first – amen! 😀

You have a great point about the focus not being on Jesus. I’m actually not a fan of the egg hunts and bunnies, because I don’t see what that has to do with what He accomplished. (I usually don’t even call the holiday “Easter” – I go with “Resurrection Day” because it keeps my mind on the real meaning and not cute animals or sweet treats, but that’s just me. 🙂 )

By the way, I really like the photo you have of Him on the cross. It shows the pain and agony He went through quite well. 😊

Have a great Resurrection Day (or Easter if you prefer)! 🙂 ♥

    1. I was on my phone earlier so I couldn’t really respond to your comment. I apologize.
This Easter I’ve been shocked at the blatant commercialization of this holiday. I see commercials talking about how kids should be given not only candy and colored eggs but toys. There’s one that suggests an Easter basket isn’t enough so an Easter wagon is a good idea!
This is, in my opinion, a way to foment envy among kids, the way Christmas now does. If kids get better stuff in an Easter basket those who don’t feel disappointment and anger.
Many parents don’t even talk about Jesus on HIS holiday! Kids who are, at least in name, Christians, don’t even know the reason for this holiday. It’s sad and shocking. And I believe it’s purposeful on the part of those who wish to destroy Christianity in America.
My own son’s fiance sent me a picture this morning of two of their kids with the Easter bunny. And sadly, I can guarantee she won’t take them to church this weekend or any other.
I’m going to celebrate with extended family (our other son, his fiance, and her family) with a big meal but first we’ll celebrate by thanking Jesus for His infinite love and sacrifice!

      1. I couldn’t agree more! The “blatant commercialization” of Easter is awful.

“I see commercials talking about how kids should be given not only candy and colored eggs but toys. There’s one that suggests an Easter basket isn’t enough so an Easter wagon is a good idea!” Whaaaat? o_O Wow, that’s pretty crazy!

I hadn’t considered envy and jealousy. You’re so right. That’s really sad.

“Many parents don’t even talk about Jesus on HIS holiday! Kids who are, at least in name, Christians, don’t even know the reason for this holiday. It’s sad and shocking.” Very. It breaks my heart that Jesus went though all the pain and then – kids are thinking about candy and gimme gimme.

“And I believe it’s purposeful on the part of those who wish to destroy Christianity in America.” Yes, I agree. It’s a way to take Jesus’ name out of it.

I’m sorry about your grandchildren. That must be hard to watch.

That sounds like a great celebration! 🙂 Have a great Resurrection Day! ♥
