We’ve been hard at work restoring the flower beds for the last few days. That’s why you haven’t been seeing much of me. But my absence has meant big changes on the flower beds! In spite of losing Pete for most of those days Mr. C and I have been able to accomplish a great deal. It’s been really fun! And the results are amazing for such a short time!

I'm a wife, mom, and grandma (known as Bam) who loves cooking, baking, gardening, and all things that go into making a cozy coop for my brood. I have a disability so you may pick up tips on how to do things when some things just don't work right!

Wow! I have just little beds and find them hard to keep.

Mine had completely been taken over by weeds. I’m going to try to keep them up after all the work but today I can’t lift my right arm. lol

Lol! I so understand that one.

Wow Elizabeth it is looking so good already, and just wait until it starts thriving. It’s going to be so pretty. All that hard work will pay off 🙂

Thank you, Margaret! I’m really tickled with it. I can’t lift my right arm today but it’s worth it!

I bet you are sore, and tired but like you said, it’s worth it :):) I’d rather feel that way for a reason, than be all sore and not know why lol 😉

Exactly! I’m in pain all the time from my spinal cord injury and it irks me. But THIS pain is great pain. I mean that it’s the result of doing good, hard work and seeing things get done. I love this kind of pain! I know that sounds funny but I do.

No it doesn’t sound funny at all. That’s what I meant at least there is a reason for it, a good reason I mean 🙂

But, oh Margaret…the chaos that was going on in my vegetable garden while I was in front LOL I now have at least 5 days work out there!

You’ll get it perfect though, I know you will

I looked at it yesterday and considered plowing it under and salting the earth so nothing would grow there again. LOL

hahahaha, of course it might be easier but not as pretty 😉

Every time I think I won’t even try I remember I NEED those vegetables. So I’ll be out there fighting the weeds there instead of out front. I’m thinking of robbing a gas station for $20 so I can get straw and not have this constant battle all summer. LOL

hahaha, no you’d get caught with your messed up foot, and sore arms and then Mr. C would have to rob the gas station for bail money. It’s a vicious cycle. Best to just deal with the weeds.

It’s true I’d suck at getaways. And, in my tiny village they voted not only identify me but my kids probably dated their kids in high school. I got Pete to bring me a tin of the free village newspaper he never threw out. I’m going to use that instead of straw.

That’s another good idea. If it’s not enough call them up, I bet they have a ton of newspapers from when they pick up the old copies and put out new copies.

That’s a great idea! I didn’t think about what happens to last week’s when this week’s comes out!
