Back in March I wrote that, instead of making New Year’s resolutions I was setting goals and challenges for myself. Things are moving slowly but I’ve been making some progress. This is the first update on my goals and challenges. And you may find some recipes or other things that you can use along the way!

I'm a wife, mom, and grandma (known as Bam) who loves cooking, baking, gardening, and all things that go into making a cozy coop for my brood. I have a disability so you may pick up tips on how to do things when some things just don't work right!

Lots of things on the list… laughed at the you wished you hadn’t put the junk room on the list LOL. You’ll get it done. LOL “are we vegetarians” It’s one meal a week Mr. C LOL. I talk to God all day. It’s a good thing He is full of patience and love for us or he’d have blocked me a long time ago. 😉

I have been contemplating having Pete & Mr. C do the work and I’ll just direct cleaning that room! I can point and they can haul! lol I’m going to have to come up with a lot of creative “side dishes” that could serve as meals. That way Mr. C doesn’t “suffer” without meat and I can still meet my goal. I often think, right after I’ve said something to God, that He thinks to Himself, “Don’t kill her. She’s not too bright but she’s generally nice.”

HAHAHAHA. I always tell my mom I don’t know why He hasn’t headed me like a shrimp yet 😉 But the truth is He looks at us and thinks, I love her 🙂

LOL I think He often looks at me the way I look at Remy. “You’re a moron but I love you.”

😉 Nah He loves us all just the way we are 😉

And, for that, I thank Him!

Great list of goals and challenges! Haha, our cabin is being used currently as storage and I feel the same way about that. Open the door, get a glimpse of how much work that is, and then close it again. XD
On the baking one, my mom put the toaster oven on our back porch so we can bake without heating up the house. 😊 I don’t know if that is helpful or not. 😄
I’m with you on prayers. 🙂

The back porch toaster oven is brilliant! My Pete has a really big one that I’ll have to borrow once a week to bake during the summer!
I had to go in that spare room a couple of days ago and I got tired just looking at it. But it really needs to be done.
I have long conversations with Jesus as I sit on the porch. I talk to Him about my foxes and the deer and the kids and everything else. It’s a good thing He’s a patient listener.

Yay, that’s great! Have fun baking! (And hopefully sharing what you baked. 😊)
I know that feeling! Sometimes it gets exhausting trying to figure out where to start on a project like that.
That sounds lovely! 🙂 Amen to that! His patience is incredible, and I’m glad that He has a never-ending supply of it!

I try to give all but a couple of pieces of my baking away the day I bake it. Pete isn’t a big dessert person but Andi and the girls are so I just send it all to them.
I think I’ve been thinking too big on that room. Instead of pondering how I’m going to get it all done I’m going to just take a tiny section at a time.
When I’m sitting there, rambling on about everything that pops into my head, Jesus reminds me of my older brothers and my dad. They, too would listen as I prattled on about everything. My brothers were much older.

Aww, that’s so nice! 🙂 My dad is like that; he will eat desserts on occasion, but not like my mom and I would. XD
Oh, what a really good idea! Little by little, so the task isn’t so daunting. 😀
That’s so cool that you had brothers to prattle to (I’m an only child) and your dad. I’m the same way with my dad. I’m glad that my dad and our Heavenly Father has such patience with me as I chatter away at them! 😅

Your dad is probably nice and slim. So is Pete. Not like his mama! lol
I’m going to limit myself to 30 minutes a day on that room so I don’t get discouraged. Or maybe one corner at a time.
My brothers were 24, 23, 21, and 12 years older than me. They were very tolerant of “the baby.”

He is! Too slim, after he became ill 5 years ago. But he was slim before that too.
Apparently I got that gene, because I’m one of those weird people who can eat whatever they want and stay thin. I’m barely over one hundred pounds. 😂
That sounds like a plan! 😀 Yesterday, my mom and I worked for about two hours on our cabin storage. We made a bit of progress!
Wow! That sounds like my grandma, in that there was such an age difference; I think ten years? By the time she was old enough to remember her brothers, all but one had left for the Army and Navy.
Aww, I’m glad they were tolerant of “the baby.” 🙂

I was a skinny kid. When I skated competitively they fed me milkshakes so my pairs partner would stop throwing me too far. I don’t have that problem now!
I’m glad you’re making progress on the cabin storage. I am still avoiding “the room” (tense 3 note music).
My oldest brother was KIA before I was born. The next one down had his first son 9 months before I was born. He and his wife were like spare parents!
The youngest brother was SO cool. He’d take us “cruising” in his Mustang as long as we knew the words to all the songs. There’s not a ’60’s song I don’t know! lol
