The Recipe That Reads “Don’t Cook”

Feeding Mr. C good, homemade meals is something I really take pride in and try to do every night. But there are some evenings I just can’t face cooking a “real meal.” On those nights I decide that sometimes the recipe that reads “don’t cook” is just right and I pull out a box or a can.

I'm a wife, mom, and grandma (known as Bam) who loves cooking, baking, gardening, and all things that go into making a cozy coop for my brood. I have a disability so you may pick up tips on how to do things when some things just don't work right!

  1. “and not really in love with each other anymore.” hahahahaha. Poor you and that sweet puppy who just wanted to stink LOL. Nothing wrong with a no cook meal. It had everything, protein, whatever’s in that box 😉 and you made salad! What more could a person want!

    1. I bragged to myself that it required cutting up and cooking chicken and measuring water AND milk! Remy still hasn’t totally forgiven me. And he keeps throwing his treat bag at me as though I owe him. I had to laugh. Last night he tossed my medicine bag on the bed. Not because he cares but because he knows they don’t get their treats until I take my medicine.

      1. You really shouldn’t try to do that much work in one day. I pace myself. I take the pizza out of the box on the first day, put it back in the freezer. On the second day I remove the plastic and preheat the oven. On the final day I put the pizza in the very preheated oven and wait for the smoke alarm to indicate the pizza is done.

      2. You rearranged the pepperoni on top of all the other work? You had to take the pizza out of the freezer, preheat the oven, put the pizza in the oven, then take it out! Why in the world did you add rearranging the pepperoni? You could have exhausted yourself to the point of hospitalization!

      3. I’m delaying the difficult nap chore by procrastinating on getting some weeding done in the vegetable garden. But if I don’t go out soon I won’t be able to do it. It’s going to be over 90 degrees today. Not the weather for slaving in the dirt.
