Lately I haven’t been doing a lot of “real” cooking. My migraines have been pretty unrelenting and food is something I don’t want to think about let alone cook. I’ve been eating packaged croutons for breakfast and lunch because they’re convenient. But poor Mr. Comfortable was running out of them for his salads. So I decided to make a big batch of homemade croutons to satisfy both of us.

Thank you! My daughter-in-law and one of my granddaughters got into them yesterday and couldn’t stop snacking on them. I was thrilled!

They would be great snacks. Better for you then some of the snacks out there, lol.

I made a lot so snacking on a few…a lot…a whole bunch is okay. Right?

Amen to this.

Migraines are killers – I don’t know how you function at all! Feel better!

I’m just getting really tired of waking up and getting sick in the wastebasket five minutes later. I know it’s not from when John bumped me. It can’t be. Maybe new glasses….

I know how that feels, believe me! There could be a myriad causes, but perhaps it’s worth it to check anyway?

I’m going to call the doctor. I thought today was going really well then right after dinner the migraine started up really bad again. LOL But I’ll probably get Dr. Wallace & he’ll order 100 expensive tests then discover I need new glasses.

Maybe so, but on the off chance that it’s something else, do call the doc – it’s not funny!

I realized that, if the headache is SO bad I’m getting sick in the wastebasket I don’t feel up to calling. If it’s not that bad I tell myself they’re going to stop so I don’t call. It’s like stopping medicine because thou feel better so you assume you don’t need the medicine. Dumb.

I usually get sick like that when I have a migraine, but my migraines never last more than 3 days. In your general condition, and after a head trauma (even minor), why take chances?

My usual, rare severe migraines usually end within a minute or two after I get sick. These haven’t been. And even when I don’t actually have a headache there’s the aura. I hate to over react but this darned thing is keeping me from doing things. I find myself sitting, staring at nothing. And I WANT to do things but I just can’t get motivated. I just want to sleep.

You are NOT over-reacting, you are procrastinating on being reasonable!

I think I’m afraid there will be no reason for the migraines. Then everyone will think I’m a hypochondriac. Or just plain nuts.

There CANNOT be “no reason for migraines” – they occur when capillaries in your brain spasm, and they do it because of some reason or another. Call the doc, please!

Today. I promise. Probably.

Do me a favor, lady, and delete that “probably” clause! Just do it – please!

Praying your migraines get better Elizabeth, they are the worst. I was reading, and got to the end where is said you let the croutons cool…I thought what??? I’d have a blister or two eating those hot out of the oven 😉 lol 🙂

Thank you, Margaret. I’m going to call the doctor. This has gone on too long. And it can’t be from John bumping me. Yes, he really whacked me but the concussion would have cleared up long ago.
I do steal a couple of croutons before they’re cooled. And Andi and her older daughter were snacking on them yesterday like crazy. Time to hit the food bank for more stale bread! lol

You know best. You know what your body is telling you. Listen!! :):) I need you, who will feed me such good recipes, with such fun love banter? Wow, that sounded selfish, and I don’t care (stomping my foot) :):) I bet they were. I’d be eating them all up, huhum… I mean “snacking” on them too 🙂

LOL It didn’t sound selfish! It sounded complimentary! Every time I pass through the kitchen I grab a few. These things are like crack!

Now Mr. C will be happy for a long time, thanks to Mrs. C’s big batch of homemade crouton. Let’s all make homemade croutons and the stores may run out of business!

LOL The stores are safe because we need to buy the ingredients! Crouton makers, though…

Oh, you’re right. They get more business for selling the ingredients!!
