Giving –The Word

You need to read this!

The Word

This is a post from when the blog was brand new. I added some pictures when I reposted it. I pray you enjoy it 🙂

Todays verses seem to be all about giving. Giving freely to those who need it, with no expectations of what this will gain me down the road.

We’ve all heard this right, its better to give than receive, what comes around goes around, and miraculously there it is right in the Bible.

I don’t think I always knew how to give or what to give, I barely had enough to get through the day, how was I suppose to give? If I did give, it wasn’t freely, there was always the expectation that I’ll get something in return.

The reality is, we all have something to give.

Ballymurrin Play Area

Things have really moved along quickly on Ballymurrin lately. Mr. Comfortable has been spending his days outside working hard to finish Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead while the weather is still warm. The cabin is done. Now it’s time to finish the Ballymurrin Play Area!

International Talk Like a Pirate Day

Because I love weird things I’ve decided to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day this year. The “holiday” is celebrated every September 19th. Who knew? I’m sure Mr. C will call a shrink and the kids will start looking for a cheap old folks home for me but their confusion will be worth it!

Cowboy Skillet Meal

Recipes that are delicious, inexpensive, and don’t create a sink full of dishes are high up on my list of “must makes.” Cowboy Skillet Meal is one of those meals. Everything, including the noodles cooks in one skillet! And if you have leftovers it’s even better the second day!

Pan-seared Delmonico Steak

We don’t have steak very often. But when I get my hands on a thick steak I’m in red meat heaven! I don’t like to mask the flavor of the meat with a lot of seasoning. When Mr. C got a really thick Delmonico steak I just had to prepare it simply! I made Pan-seared Delmonico Steak and the result was wonderful!

Spirituality in an Irish Family

I came from a large, Irish Catholic family. Every Sunday we attended Mass and I remember Daddy on his knees each night praying before he went to bed. Spirituality in an Irish family is very important. But, as a kid, we viewed things a little differently than the adults.

Creamy Chicken Quesadillas

When we had dinner at Kevin’s on Sunday the conversation turned to spicy food. I love spicy dishes but Mr. C can’t handle the heat the way he could before. But that talk made me crave something I haven’t made in quite a while; Creamy Chicken Quesadillas.

Did You Know?

From time to time I hear something that surprises me or corrects an idea I’ve had about something. I’ve always loved learning strange facts. Now I’m going to share a few of the things I learned with you! I have to ask…did you know?

Ballymurrin is Nearly Complete!

Are you sitting down? This is really big news! At times I wondered if I’d end up with ducks in the tub for the rest of my life. My sister’s duck still winters in their tub and Humphrey is 10 years old! After months (and months, and months) of planning, construction, delays, and dreaming Ballymurrin is nearly complete!

Skillet Italian Chicken & Pasta

Although we’re not Italian we know that Italian food is real comfort food. There’s something about pasta, tomatoes, and garlic that warms the soul. And who doesn’t love mozzarella cheese? Skillet Italian Chicken & Pasta hits all the Italian food notes and, even better, it makes clean up after dinner a breeze!
