Ballymurrin is Nearly Complete!

Are you sitting down? This is really big news! At times I wondered if I’d end up with ducks in the tub for the rest of my life. My sister’s duck still winters in their tub and Humphrey is 10 years old! After months (and months, and months) of planning, construction, delays, and dreaming Ballymurrin is nearly complete!

The Farmstead has Walls!

I’m beyond excited! The farmstead has walls! Well, technically at the time this is being written Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead has one wall but we’re on the way to have all the walls done! This project has taken longer than I ever expected but now that the farmstead has walls I know we’ll be done soon!

Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead

It was suggested by a couple of friends here in the blogosphere that the Duck Cabin is really more of a duck castle. I agree. The home Mr. C is building for the ducks is absolutely amazing. I even researched some good Irish castle names for Freckles’ and Penguin’s new home. But we decided on Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead. And there’s a reason for this.

Since we got the ducks last November I’ve been itching to get them out of the tub and into their own home. Now that it’s warmed up Mr. Comfortable is getting started on the duck cabin. It’s going to be amazing!
