From the time I was a little girl I’ve had a love affair with chicken fried steak. It’s definitely one of my top comfort foods! I love that I can make it as simple or as complex as I like and still have the same “Oh this is yummy” feeling about it. Since Mr. Comfortable and I have been on a spicy food kick lately I decided to make Kicked Up Chicken Fried Steak to satisfy both the comfort food and spicy food cravings!

That’s what happened when I saw a recipe for a steak marinade on All Recipes and thought of a recipe I’ve used for years from Brian Boitano when he was on Food Network. I had a 1 pound rib eye steak, some mini French bread buns, and a hankering for something really savory yet with a touch of sweetness. So I made Steak Sandwiches with Red Onion Jam!

I know a lot of people think that steak sandwiches should be a summertime meal but I’m not one to say no to steak no matter what the season. I’m an unrepentant carnivore and free beef is right in my price range. So when I got a couple of free ribeye steaks I decided to go all in and make Steak Sandwiches with Roasted Tomato Jam.

A long time ago, longer than I like to admit, we took a trip to California. On the way we had a really tasty meal in a tiny diner somewhere out west. Tender steak with sweet and spicy teriyaki sauce paired with scallion rice is a total winner of a meal. Although this dish does take a little time and attention it’s worth every minute! You may find you’ve put Beef Teriyaki with Scallion Rice in your regular dinner rotation.
