Things have really moved along quickly on Ballymurrin lately. Mr. Comfortable has been spending his days outside working hard to finish Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead while the weather is still warm. The cabin is done. Now it’s time to finish the Ballymurrin Play Area!

Ballymurrin is Nearly Complete!
Are you sitting down? This is really big news! At times I wondered if I’d end up with ducks in the tub for the rest of my life. My sister’s duck still winters in their tub and Humphrey is 10 years old! After months (and months, and months) of planning, construction, delays, and dreaming Ballymurrin is nearly complete!

The Farmstead has Walls!
I’m beyond excited! The farmstead has walls! Well, technically at the time this is being written Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead has one wall but we’re on the way to have all the walls done! This project has taken longer than I ever expected but now that the farmstead has walls I know we’ll be done soon!

Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead
It was suggested by a couple of friends here in the blogosphere that the Duck Cabin is really more of a duck castle. I agree. The home Mr. C is building for the ducks is absolutely amazing. I even researched some good Irish castle names for Freckles’ and Penguin’s new home. But we decided on Ballymurrin Quacker Farmstead. And there’s a reason for this.

Moving Forward on the Duck Cabin
Things have been moving forward on the Duck Cabin. In spite of some rainy days Mr. Comfortable has been able to get a lot done. I feel terrible about not being able to help but most of the things he’s been doing are things I can’t do anyway. The important thing is that he’s still moving forward on the Duck Cabin so Freckles and Penguin can move in soon!

Construction Continues
While I’ve been whining about my rash Mr. Comfortable has been working on the Duck Cabin. He hasn’t been able to spend as much time on it as he’d have liked. There were a few days of rain, our granddaughter’s birthday party, and my need to be babied 24/7 because I itch. Yet construction continues!

For the longest time we made very little progress on the duck cabin but now things are really moving! We’ve got all the material to finish construction and everything is in place to complete this project! And now the duck cabin has a floor!

Serious Construction on the Duck Cabin
The original video that inspired the duck cabin has disappeared from the internet. I didn’t think that was even possible! But in spite of this little setback we’ve begun serious construction on the duck cabin!

Work on the Duck Cabin has resumed!
It’s been a while since we’ve done any work on the duck cabin. Mr. Comfortable hasn’t been feeling all that well and, with two weddings so close together, we were busy with other things. I’m thrilled that work on the duck cabin has resumed!
