While I’ve been whining about my rash Mr. Comfortable has been working on the Duck Cabin. He hasn’t been able to spend as much time on it as he’d have liked. There were a few days of rain, our granddaughter’s birthday party, and my need to be babied 24/7 because I itch. Yet construction continues!

S glad you’re feeling better! ❤
Haha, just curious – won’t the root killer also kill the grape vine itself?

Not a problem. They’re wild grapes and they’re not producing much any more.

Oh, that’s good. 🙂 Uh. Good that it’s not a problem, not good that they aren’t producing much anymore. 😅
I’m wondering now what a wild grape tastes like compared to a regular grape or a muscadine?

I’ve honestly neglected the grapes since we moved in 17 years ago. They’re a pain. They grow up all the trees and kill them. I tasted a couple of the grapes that first summer but I don’t really remember what they were like.

Ooohhh, haha. I didn’t know they could kill a tree! Is it because they block the light?

They just grow and grow covering the whole tree. I may dig some up and try them on trellises.

Oohhh, I see. Wow. I bought a grape vine several years ago, and bought a second this year and I can only image what they could accomplish if they grew wild in a tree; mine are on a metal arch. Takes a lot of care and research to find out how to care for them and get grapes, but along the way, John 15 is making more and more sense, so that’s a bright side… 😊
Good luck if you try growing them on trellises if you try it! 🙂

The wild grapes were here and already growing on everything when we moved in. I should try to tame some but I don’t think we can get rid of them without cutting down all the trees.
