A wonderful blogger wrote that she wasn’t feeling the Christmas spirit and had decided to make a to do list to get herself in a Christmas mood. I realized, since I haven’t been very “Christmasy” for several years a Christmas to do list was a great idea to get back in the swing of things!
You can find the link that inspired me here
Today is our village’s annual Christmas hoopla. It’s called Christmas in the Ville and there are activities all day followed by our lighted nighttime parade.
A little of the old-fashioned with a little of the modern
The hot air balloonists light the night before going on to the balloon glow.
The Village tree arrives drawn by a team of gorgeous draft horses.
In addition to attending Christmas in the Ville there are some things I really want to do this season.
Red denotes something I’ve accomplished.
Sit outside while it snows drinking hot chocolate.
Drive around looking at the Christmas lights on houses.
Go to the Christmas lights display at the park (this is a drive-thru experience).
Have another family game night. We do these anyway but any excuse to get everyone together is fine with me!
Bake for family and friends. I have a confession to make. Mr. C got me a Kitchenaid stand mixer for Christmas and it came today. Now I can’t wait to start using it to make wonderful treats for everyone!
Pull out all my old Christmas decorations and make this basement look like a Christmas wonderland!
Watch at least 2 Christmas movies a week (even if some are those cheesy romantic Hallmark movies).
Spend an afternoon wrapping gifts for my family and friends.
Spend a day delivering gifts to the people I won’t see on Christmas Day.
Go to church for the evening special Christmas service.
Do you have a Christmas to do list? What’s on yours?
My list is to do as little as possible hahaha bahumbug! 🙂 But seriously, as little as possible 🙂

I’ve been doing too little for too long. I really need to start getting things done here. And Christmas is a good reason to get really settled in. But you should put your feet up and take it easy.

Since I live in Texas the weather doesn’t usually cooperate in helping us feel Christmasy. Plus since I am older, a lot of the prep just seems like extra work! But I do still love to bake and watch old movies. And your list gave me an idea that is easy to accomplish — start off the season by looking for everyone’s holiday blog posts! It’s fun to see how people celebrate in different places, and it gives me much more of the holiday spirit than watching TV and seeing the same holiday commercials over and over!

I know what you mean about the work! I’m 61 and feel that the kids should start doing everything! On our Thanksgiving, without realizing it, I ended up doing all the cooking. *sigh*

I miss going to Brooner’s to celebrate Christmas any time of the year.

I love the sheer number of items Bronner’s has but their prices…. YIKES! I may have to take a trip to find a really great “Baby’s First Christmas” ornament for the new granddaughter.

I’m pleased you are getting in the mood. Cards, presents, catering are on our list

Wanting to decorate has also made me get off my lazy butt and continue emptying boxes. I’m so ashamed that we moved in August and I still have some boxes I haven’t touched. I spent part of the day yesterday going through a few and finding spots for things. Christmas is going to be very motivational!
You’re having it catered or you’re catering? I’m intrigued.

Ahhh. I keep trying to get out of being the family cook but, like Michael Corleone, just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

That makes it so much more fun! I always did but then I realized I’ve been making full Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners since I was 17. Almost 65 years. That’s enough. LOL

Since this is the first time in years I can buy gifts I’m going just a wee bit nuts. Well, not really. It’s just with 8 grand kids it FEELS like I’ve gone crazy. I’m going to bully my oldest into bringing his 4 up sometime during the holidays so I can hug them and smooch on their little cheeks! A wreath!! I need a wreath!

Christmas in the Ville looks fun! I’ve been watching cheesy Hallmark movies since the Christmas Countdown began which was before Halloween. I even put the app on my phone.

I’m pulling out my A Christmas Carol DVD today. Then I’m making hot chocolate and sitting in bed too watch it.
