It’s been fascinating to watch the duck cabin start to come into existence. Mr. Comfortable has moved from cutting logs for the walls to building the frame for the cabin. I finally feel we’re making progress on the duck cabin!

It’s great to see the progress on the cabin! With the sticker embellishments, the ducks will feel right at home ;).

I just have to lurk near construction sites after dark. I need a few 8 foot 2×4’s and a big piece of plywood.LOL

Thank you! Once the logs and concrete are in nothing will bother those ducks!

I wanted so badly to soak in the big tub Monday night but I’m not going to do it with the ducks! LOL

LOL I’m on pins and needles about it! Our weather has delayed work but I’m hoping we’ll be able to get things moving again!

Oh I know it will get done. With Mr. C doing the work and you as the contractor/foreman/supervisor, there is no way it’s not getting done 😉

Our daughter just offered to buy a duck house for us. We were (all the of us) deeply upset. Pete and Marty were hollering about it after the phone call. LOL Instead she’s going to chip in on materials.

lol homemade is better. That way you know what it is being made out of and the quality of it

This cabin is going to have log and concrete walls, a concrete floor, acrylic windows, and be enclosed by a chicken wire dome. NOTHING can get to the ducks in it. I’ve looked at the duck houses on the market and I’d be nervous with the critters we have around here.

Exactly and you’d be adapting it, repairing it, and certainly have to replace it in a few years. The one y’all are building will last longer than I will LOL

And the cool thing is if we ever move Mr. C thinks he knows how we’d move it!

Thank you. It’s funny. I grew up a rich kid. My first marriage was terrible but we had tons of money. Now Mr. C and I use food banks and can’t afford clothes but we’re happy and I’ve learned to get by with what I have even when it’s nothing!

Amen to that. Money doesn’t make all things better. I have some richer than rich friends and they are not very happy. It’s like hubby says, God gives us just what we need, and we are happy, and thankful.

I have to admit having money did make things a heck of a lot easier but what struck me most is that, even though we’re dead broke, we still have fun.

That’s what matters. I mean yes money is convenient but if there isn’t happiness, laughs, fun etc then what good is it.
